Outdoor Lighting

For large scale outdoor projects, like pavilions, tents and festival lighting, use Heavy Duty Light Strings in combination with Long Life Light Bulbs or LED Light Bulbs. These are available in different socket sizes with 12”, 15” or 24” socket spacing and three different wire colors. The longest runs can be created with the lower gauge wire (14AWG) and medium (standard) base sockets. Light Bulbs are available in eight different colors and last an average of 10,000 hours! Custom, multi-colored color schemes for the holidays can be made by simply mixing and alternating colors.

For outdoor deck lighting, use mini lights (also called twinkle lights), rope lights or outdoor string light sets in either incandescent or LED. Wrap lights around deck railings or add stairs lights to decks for safety and interest by placing rope light under each stair tread.

There are many types of lights that can be used for outdoor party lights to add a fun and festive mood. When using lights to add to the party feel, make sure you use lights around the perimeter of the deck, gazebo, porch or patio. If possible, increase the effect by running lengths of light back and forth overhead to create a canopy of light.

The best outdoor lighting products include:

  • Incandescent Rope Light
  • LED Rope Light
  • Commercial Grade Light Strings (candelabra and intermediate light strings)
  • Commercial Grade LED Light Strings
  • Standard Grade LED Light Strings (also known as mini lights or twinkle lights)

Depending upon whether the lights are to celebrate a certain season or holiday, you may want to use light strings that allow you to change bulbs for different events to enhance the party theme.
